Hi there. I thought I'll drop you a line on a feature idea that I would like to see in Spiffy.
As the topics name suggest the 'idea' is a scheduler. A built in tool/option/whatever to control in what part of a day what would be the behavior of Spiffy. Someone would like to have Spiffy to behave 'silently' on weekends and on weekday evenings or in some otherway (people have some funny ideas as you can see :D).
For example, I've set up Spiffy to alert me with a sound effect when I get a new mail, but it would be nice if I could set it up in a way that I wouldn't get any notification (aside from the tray icons color change) when I get a new mail. Of course without disabling anything in Spiffy or stoppin the application. I got it running all day from 'start to finish', even when I'm watching movies in the evening and it can be quite bothersome (mostly when I'm watching movies in the evenings - 'ongoing romantic love scene - 'BOOM MAIL' - ruined romantic love scene', it's also not good when a loud action scene is on going :D). Sooo, I think you can see my point.
Oh, and one other thing concerning this: I don't know if you're familiar with uTorrent or not, but it has a built in scheduler (see the attachement for a screenshot of the scheduler tool). It's really simple: in the cells one can click through four options (marked by the four colors shown). Rows represents days, cells hours. I could not think any better desing for a scheduler for Spiffy (that is why I came through the registration 'hardships' and dropped you a line ;).
Aside from this little idea I have two more suggestions.
If it's possible it would be really nice if Spiffy would check for open gmail tabs in a browser, so when I have a browser open and I click on 'Open Gmail' in Spiffy it won't open a new tab.
The last thing is that when I get a new mail I get a notification earlier than the mail appears in gmail. I know that this is because Spiffy check gmail's mail/newmail feed and the actual gmail window don't get refreshed instantly when a new mail arrives... this isn't too much of a big problem really. This mostly happens when I'm sitting in front of my PC and get a mail and rush to check my gmail tab which I have to refresh to see the new mail. So my suggestion is that to have an option to delay Spiffy's notifications by the amount of time gmail is automatically refreshes the gmail window . This way the new mail would be 'always there'. :) It really doesn't matter if I get notification on a new mail a minute later, but it could spare me a 'whole click' for a day. :D I'm probably alone with this, but on somedays one click can mean a lot!
Sorry if I was too lenghty. Cheers mate!
