I would like to propose the development of the following features:
Triggering of the POP3 check while checking account
Checking additional Labels for unread messages
Use case:
Short:
I've been using GMail for many years now and have setup filters to keep unimportant messages from appearing in my inboxes.
Currently, Spiffy doesn't seem to notify me when a label gets a new message that skips the inbox but is still marked unread.
Long:
I have GMail setup to check my work POP3 account, and deliver the messages to a label named "! Work". Other messages skip the inbox and end up in Labels such as "! Family" or "! Important".
My current configuration for Spiffy is using multiple 'accounts' with the same username/password set, with the additional accounts set for "Check this GMail Label instead of Inbox".
I propose expanding this feature to a list of Labels ("Inbox" acts as a hidden label, and cannot be removed.) so I could use a single account, with the list set to "Inbox, ! Work, ! Family, ! Important".
It would also be quite nice if Spiffy could trigger the POP3 check itself, a short while before checking for new messages. (Occasionally it takes GMail a few minutes to process and sort incoming POP3 messages.)
Thank you very much for all the time and effort you've spent to make Spiffy the best tray-notifier I've found for the various incarnations of windows!
I made the decision to download it based on the fact that it's the only windows-based GPL licensed notifier I could find, and I'm very picky about being able to improve the software I use. Where is the GIT or SVN source repository? I haven't found any links to it.
I'm perfectly happy to add these features myself and pass the changes back up the chain to you, as I'm a NASA System Administrator, and quite familiar with the opensource development process as well as C#.
If you do not have a source repository, where can I send a snail mail for a physical copy of the source as required by the GPL? I'm willing to send on the cost of the return media.
